GENERAL FAQS

Is Vision International University of Florida (VIUF) accredited?

Vision International University of Florida (VIUF), operated by Vision International Leadership Network (Euless, TX), is authorized to operate and grant degrees by the Florida Department of Education's Commission for Independent Education, (850) 245-3200, under Florida Statute 1005.06(1)(f). Its purpose is to prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, professionals, or laypersons in the category of theology. VIUF is exempt from licensure and the jurisdiction or purview of the commission pursuant to F.S. 1005.06(1)(f); as a state-authorized (rather than regionally accredited) theological institution, VIUF accepts no governmental grants or financial aid.

The studies offered by Vision International University of Florida are not in competition with the secular field of training or employment. VIUF was established to train men and women of God and equip them with the tools necessary to be mature, productive, and functioning parts of the local Body of Christ.

Is Vision right for me?
Vision is a vocational education program for those who desire to serve in full-time ministry within the realms of Christian Ministry. The programs of the university are not designed for traditional students who wish to seek a four-year baccalaureate program upon graduation of high-school. If you are a U.S. student seeking such a program specifically via distance education, you should explore a college or university which is Regionally Accredited (please refer to Baker's Guide to Christian Distance Education). Vision is better suited for those working or actively serving in ministry.

Can you provide transcripts?
The student may request an unofficial student transcript or request that official transcripts be sent directly to other universities and employers by contacting the Registrar.

Can you guarantee that a school I would like to transfer to will accept by VIUF credits/degree?
All schools have their own policy regarding transfer of credit and the acceptance of degrees for higher-level education. To ensure that the school(s) that you would like to enroll in will accept Vision credits/degrees you will need to contact the gaining school. We will be happy to provide a copy of our catalog, syllabi, etc. for the purposes of evaluation by your prospective gaining school. Exception: We currently have articulation agreements with some schools (such as Tabor College in Australia and Hope International University and Newport International University and Southwestern Christian University and Graduate School). Additional articulation agreements are being developed on a continual basis. Please contact us for additional information.

Will credits earned at VIUF transfer to other schools?

Students desiring to transfer credits to other colleges may contact that college to determine if that particular college will receive VIUF credits. Our school is willing to make contact with the Dean's Office of any college to which one of our students is transferring in order to help facilitate that transfer. As Florida statutes note, transfer of credits from this institution to other institutions is at the discretion of the receiving institution.

Will you accept transfer credits from other post-secondary learning institutions?
Transcripts will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Credits from regionally accredited and nationally accredited institutions will typically transfer automatically.

Can I take courses out of sequence?
Yes. Although courses are arranged in a logical sequence, a student may take courses out of sequence, within any degree program.

How long does it take to complete each course?
Each student progresses at his/her own pace. The normal time required for each course is approximately six to nine weeks. However, there is no formal time limit. The student will receive ample time for the completion of each course.
